Learning and growing spiritually are important at St. Mary’s. Every other week, the children in the 3 to 6-year-old classes spend 20 minutes with the Director of Children’s Ministries of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and every week, the kindergarten class spends 30 minutes with her. During this time the children learn simple rituals including lighting a candle, ringing a bell, saying prayers, and reciting a Christian Creed. A Bible story that helps children learn about who God/Jesus is and how each child can be God’s “light in the world” through spreading love and kindness, is also included. Chapel is held in the Sanctuary or on the nature trail in the “chapel” area.
