Our Story

St. Mary’s School treasures the uniqueness of each child and nurtures creativity, deep thinking, and problem-solving through engaging learning experiences. Our students discover the joy and wonder of learning both in the classroom and in our beautiful outdoor spaces.

The St. Mary's Story

Lifelong learning begins at St. Mary’s as students investigate, experiment, create, collaborate, and reflect on those things that are relevant to their lives. Teachers intentionally provide meaningful experiences that enrich and extend the child’s knowledge and motivate their natural curiosity. As they begin to develop relationships with their friends and learn to interact with one another through teamwork and problem-solving, they begin to see themselves as an integral part of their classroom community.

Community is the core of our story that began in 2000 with the school’s founding by St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. A strong team of committed educators, families, and the church saw a unique opportunity to grow a child’s faith and learning, in an early childhood educational setting.

To meet the expressed needs of our school community, we added a kindergarten program in 2021. Our kindergarten follows our philosophy that children learn best in a small-class, play-based environment which uses a thought-provoking and challenging curriculum to prepare children for success in first grade. The unique, natural surroundings of St. Mary’s, creates a place for children to wonder, connect with nature, and care for God’s creation.

Our goal is to nurture and empower the whole child to be confident and caring individuals who are successfully prepared for their future in challenging programs at both public and private schools.
