Why It’s Great to Re-Read Your Child’s Favorite Stories
September 22, 2017
Did you know that reading your child’s favorite stories to them (again! and again!) actually promotes comprehension and boosts vocabulary acquisition?
“Every morning during circle time, we participate in repeated reading,” said Mrs. Jones, teacher for three/four-year-olds. “The class has been reading, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? each day, and I think every time we read it, they discover something new or make a new association.”
The children are adjusting to the rhythm and routine of their new class – building literacy skills, learning about the concepts of heavy and light, having music time with Music Teacher Jessica Dodson and enjoying Open Time with the 3-day class.
