“Camping” with the 3/4-Day Class Extends Dramatic Play
March 2, 2017
The children in Mrs. Jones’ 3/4-Day class had so much fun with the bear cave and learning about bears that play has been extended to CAMPING! A tent has been brought in for children to “roast hot dogs” and “toast marshmallows” to make s’mores!
“Dramatic play like this has so many benefits, such as oral language development, problem solving practice and nurturing the imagination,” Jones said. “When children role play, they are given the opportunity to negotiate situations. As they become successful in cooperating with others, children develop self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment.”
