Welcoming Our New Chaplain

Welcoming Our New ChaplainAmelia McDaniel is the new director of children’s ministries for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the newly appointed chaplain for the preschool. Amelia has 20 years of experience in serving both churches and schools of the Episcopal tradition. She began her church work at St. James’s Episcopal Church in Richmond. She is the mother of two children, ages 10 and 14.

“We welcome Amelia to the St. Mary’s family and thank her for sharing her wonderful gifts with the children of St. Mary’s School,” said Susan Rawls, director of St. Mary’s Episcopal School.

Pre-K teacher Suzanne Hendrix said the Pre-K and Junior Kindergarten children enjoyed their first chapel with “Miss Amelia.”

“She told the story of Easter and talked about the circle of life and of God’s love,” Hendrix said. “We sang songs and learned a new prayer. We are thrilled to have her with us!”
